Meta Platforms (META.O) is strategically restructuring its Responsible AI team, dispersing members across various company units to reinforce efforts in preventing AI-related harms.
The move aims to integrate the team more closely with the development of core products and technologies.
A Meta spokesperson highlighted that the majority of the Responsible AI team members will transition to generative AI, contributing to cross-Meta initiatives focused on responsible AI development.
Simultaneously, some members will join AI infrastructure projects. The reshuffle is part of Meta’s ongoing commitment to prioritizing safe and responsible AI development, ensuring scalability for future needs.
This decision follows Meta’s recent introduction of generative AI tools designed to create diverse content for advertisers. Meta’s AI portfolio, including the language model “Llama 2” and the chatbot Meta AI, remains at the forefront of innovative AI solutions.
