The government has launched the Awaz App, a mobile application designed to allow citizens to report human rights (HR) violations effectively.

Minister for Law, Justice, and Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar officially launched the Awaz App on Wednesday. The Ministry for Human Rights described this groundbreaking application as a pivotal tool in addressing and reporting human rights violations swiftly and efficiently.

The app enables users to report various human rights issues, including cases of missing or abducted children. These reports are immediately forwarded to relevant authorities for prompt action. An Alert System is activated upon receiving a report, triggering a coordinated response involving law enforcement, government departments, and community organizations.

The Awaz App disseminates crucial information about reported incidents through various channels, including social media, WhatsApp groups, news outlets, and public announcements, thereby maximizing public awareness and engagement. Law enforcement agencies are mobilized to initiate search operations and investigations to locate missing or abducted individuals promptly.

The app aims not only to ensure the safe recovery of victims but also to provide comprehensive support services once they are found. These services include counseling, legal aid, and medical assistance, ensuring a holistic approach to victim recovery and rehabilitation.

At the inauguration, Mr. Tarar emphasized the app’s role in creating a safer and more responsive environment for addressing human rights issues. He stated, “We are proud to introduce the Awaz App as a pivotal tool in our ongoing efforts to protect and uphold human rights. This app embodies the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for justice and ensuring that every voice is heard and acted upon.”

The Ministry of Human Rights encourages all citizens to download the Awaz App and participate actively in the collective effort to combat human rights violations. The app is currently available for download on Android and will soon be accessible on the iOS platform as well.
