Blast on Warsak Road in Peshawar Injures Seven, Including Four Children

Early Tuesday blast on Warsak Road, Peshawar injures 7, including 4 children: hospital and rescue sources confirm. According to information obtained from Lady Reading Hospital, an eight-year-old boy named Ihsanullah is in critical condition as a result of the incident. The condition of the other six injured individuals, identified as Shakirullah (six years old), Ahmed Zia (14 years old), Javeed (17 years old), Niamat (22 years old), Yousaf (23 years old), and Saad Ahmed (24 years old), is reported to be stable. The spokesperson for emergency rescue services, Bilal Ahmad Faizi, stated that an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated on a busy road in Peshawar at 9:10 a.m., causing injuries to five people, including four children.

Warsak Superintendent Arshad Khan mentioned that the incident occurred near Peshawar Public School and disclosed that approximately four kilograms of explosives were used in the IED, cleverly disguised as a “cemented block.” An investigation into the blast is currently underway, and when asked about the potential target of the attack, Khan stated that it would be premature to speculate at this stage.

Following the incident, rescue services promptly transported the injured to nearby medical facilities, and security forces cordoned off the area. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Mohammad Ashfaq Anwar, the police chief of Peshawar, informed Reuters that there is no indication suggesting that school children were the specific target of the attack.
