The Additional District and Sessions Court in Karachi recently rejected Natasha Danish’s bail plea in connection to the accident that claimed the lives of Imran Arif and his daughter Amna. The court’s decision, delivered by Judge Shahid Ali Memon, came after careful consideration of the charges against Natasha. The accident occurred on August 19, when Natasha, allegedly driving under the influence of drugs, struck multiple pedestrians, resulting in two fatalities and severe injuries to others. Following the accident, Natasha was arrested and charged with reckless driving, manslaughter, and drug use.

The case has unfolded dramatically in recent weeks. On August 21, Natasha was remanded to judicial custody by the City Court of Karachi. Just a few days later, on August 23, CCTV footage emerged showing her vehicle hitting a car and a motorcycle before ultimately colliding with the victims. Further investigation revealed that Natasha had tested positive for crystal meth (Ice), leading to additional charges under the Narcotics Act. In early September, forensic examinations were conducted on the accident footage to strengthen the prosecution’s case.

The controversy deepened when the families of the victims, Imran Arif and Amna, submitted a no-objection certificate (NOC), stating that they had forgiven Natasha and had no issue with her being granted bail. However, despite this document and their agreement to settle matters privately, the court ruled against granting bail, emphasizing the gravity of the charges and the broader public interest. Earlier, on September 4, Natasha’s husband, Danish Iqbal, had been granted interim bail, while Natasha’s bail request had been postponed due to the ongoing investigation.

The case continues to stir public emotions, as the deaths of Imran Arif and his daughter have become a focal point for discussions around road safety, substance abuse, and the accountability of individuals with privileged backgrounds. Karachi police remain dedicated to ensuring a thorough investigation, while the legal proceedings continue to capture widespread attention.
