Barcelona, Barcelona’s dockworkers, represented by the Organization of Port Stevedores of Barcelona (OEPB), have taken a resolute stance, pledging not to load or unload military materials destined for Israel or any conflict zone. In a statement issued on November 6, the OEPB called for a cease-fire in global conflicts, emphasizing their commitment to protecting civilian populations and respecting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
“We have decided not to allow shipping activity in our port that contains military equipment, with the sole purpose of protecting any civilian population in any territory. No cause justifies sacrificing civilians.”
While the symbolic move may not directly impact weapon shipments, it aims to inspire other Spanish ports to join the cause.

Belgium, In a united front, four Belgian transport unions—ACV Puls, BTB, BBTK, and ACV-Transcom—issued a joint statement, urging their members to refuse handling military equipment destined for Israel amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas. The unions highlighted the moral dilemma of contributing to organizations involved in the conflict and echoed global calls for an immediate cease-fire. Additionally, they called on the Belgian government to take a stand against arms shipments through Belgian airports. The unions’ collective stance aligns with growing international movements opposing military support for Israel during the current crisis.
