PTI Chairman, Barrister Gohar, stated that PTI founder Imran Khan is ready to forgive and move forward with negotiations.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar mentioned that lawyers met with Imran Khan today, during which Khan expressed concerns about not being allowed to communicate with his sons.
Barrister Gohar emphasized that Imran Khan has repeatedly said he is willing to forgive and is open to negotiations. He stressed that dialogue should take place within the framework of the constitution and the law.
PTI Chairman mentioned that negotiations will begin with Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party. He stated that while PTI has its own decision-making power, it will take its allies, including Achakzai and other parties, into confidence. Negotiations will also take place at the alliance level, and PTI is prepared to initiate talks independently.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan highlighted that there is no alternative to negotiations and that PTI has never refused to negotiate. He noted that tensions are easing, and PTI aims to improve the situation, urging that their offer for dialogue should not be perceived as a deal.
In response to a question, the PTI Chairman clarified that Imran Khan has not written any letter to the Supreme Court regarding negotiations and that PTI will respond to the Supreme Court’s suggestion for talks.
It is noteworthy that PTI has consistently maintained that Imran Khan is open to discussions with everyone except Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Muttahida Qaumi Movement Pakistan (MQM-P).
Meanwhile, PTI leaders assert that they prefer to negotiate with the actual power holders rather than the current government.
On the other hand, Prime Minister’s Advisor Rana Sanaullah stated that the government is ready to negotiate with PTI, but Imran Khan will have to restrain himself.
