LIFESTYLE

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Wednesday that comedian Jimmy Kimmel will return as the host for the 96th Oscars, marking his fourth stint at the helm of Hollywood’s premier awards ceremony.

“I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times,” remarked Kimmel, expressing his excitement in the Academy’s official statement.

Scheduled for March 10, 2024, the 96th Oscars will be broadcast on Walt Disney (DIS.N)-owned ABC and transmitted globally through various broadcast outlets.

Kimmel’s most recent hosting gig at the 95th Oscars, held at the Dolby Theatre last March, was well-received for its back-to-basics approach. The show aimed to celebrate a resurgence in moviegoing following the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Kimmel’s efforts earned him an Emmy nomination for his hosting performance.

As the host and executive producer of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” Kimmel has previously presided over the Oscars in both 2017 and 2018. His return for the fourth time reaffirms his standing as a familiar face and a trusted entertainer for the prestigious event. Hollywood and the global audience can anticipate another dose of Kimmel’s unique comedic style when the 96th Oscars take center stage in 2024.
