PPP to Pay ‘Huge Cost’ if it Aligns With PML-N: Chan

PAKISTAN

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Nadeem Afzal Chan expressed concerns over potential consequences if his party were to join a ruling coalition led by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). In an interview with a private TV channel, he highlighted the challenges faced by PPP, stressing that neither the party workers nor leadership are keen on aligning with PML-N.

Chan emphasized the importance of political dialogue, pointing out the public resentment towards PML-N, suggesting that any association with the party could lead to significant political losses due to the prevailing sentiments against them.

Regarding the mandate given to PTI founder Imran Khan, Chan emphasized the need to respect the voters’ decision and their rebellion against the established system of victimization. He noted that both he and Bilawal Bhutto became popular by criticizing the system and the PML-N.

When questioned about PPP’s potential collaboration with PML-N in the assembly, Chan hinted that it was premature to make a firm decision. However, he indicated a preference for PPP to steer clear of aligning with PML-N, given the complexities and political landscape of the current scenario.
