X Surpasses Facebook and Instagram in Driving Traffic via Google

TECHNOLOGY

Elon Musk, the owner of the tech platform Twitter, rebranded as X, reposted content highlighting that X has significantly outperformed Facebook and Instagram in generating substantial traffic through Google. Previously, several major news outlets published articles with the title ‘Twitter is dying,’ which played a pivotal role in attracting a significant audience. As many have stated, bad publicity can sometimes be beneficial. Through this, X was able to surpass other social media platforms in Google search.

In his post, Musk stated, “Guess we’re not dead yet,” while sharing a user’s post containing details of X surpassing other apps. The post read, “X Traffic Update! X surpasses Instagram and Facebook by a significant margin in driving traffic through Google.” Musk’s post surpassed the ratings and reach of all his previous posts by acquiring 40 million views and 336,000 likes in less than 24 hours. One user commented on Musk’s post, “Meta is censorship. X is free speech. This is not difficult,” and gathered approximately 4200 likes.

The tweet quoted by Elon Musk showcases social media traffic through Google’s top 100 organic search results. X holds the top spot with 640.6 million traffic generated, significantly ahead of Instagram and Facebook, which received 548.3 million and 491.7 million traffic through Google, respectively.

Despite X performing well over the last month, Meta still maintains a profitable position in the tech industry. Its earnings report until September 30, 2023, shows that Facebook possesses 3.05 billion monthly active users, marking a 3% increase from last year. The overall revenue of the company also grew by 23% year by year.
